Obituary

Raymond Joseph Carpenter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather,

brother, uncle, and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on June 13,

2026, at the age of 81.

Born on December 6, 1944, Raymond lived a life defined by faith, family, friendship, and

unwavering devotion to those he loved. On April 24, 1965, he married the love of his

life, Joy Ann Darby. Together they shared more than 61 years of marriage, building a

beautiful family and a legacy rooted in love, faith, and commitment.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, John I. Carpenter and Ann Russo

Carpenter and brother, John Carpenter.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Joy; his daughters, Dina Rolen, Dana Carboni

(Brian), and Dona Witt (Kevin); and his son, Matthew Carpenter (Kari). He is also

survived by his brothers, Andrew Carpenter (Linda) and Richard Carpenter (Denise).

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Emily Becker (Collin), Carter Rolen (Alivia),

Andrew Rolen (Sydney), Matthew Rolen (Rachel), William Rolen, Joseph Rolen,

Anthony Carboni, Vincent Carboni, James Witt, John Witt, Garrett Carpenter, Gabriela

Carpenter, and Mark Carpenter.

He was also blessed to be a great-grandfather to Henry Rolen and Stanley Rolen.

Raymond is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-

nephews and their families. While too numerous to name individually, each was dear to

him. Through his weekly conversations and Zoom gatherings with his brothers, he

stayed connected to the lives of the family he loved so much, celebrating their

milestones, taking pride in their accomplishments, and faithfully praying for them and

their families.

Raymond spent more than five decades in the jewelry industry, beginning his career

with Gordon's Jewelers in New Orleans in 1964 and retiring from Select Jewelers in

Houston in 2015. He took great pride in his work and built lasting relationships

throughout his career.

In retirement, Raymond enjoyed painting, fishing, and golf. He found joy in the simple

pleasures of life and cherished every opportunity to gather with family and friends.

A man of deep Catholic faith, Raymond faithfully served his parish as a choir member,

lector, and member of the Knights of Columbus. His faith was not only something he

professed, but something he lived each day through his kindness, generosity, humility,

and love for others.

Above all else, Raymond adored his wife and treasured time spent with his children,

grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family gatherings were among his greatest

joys, and he never missed an opportunity to celebrate life's moments with those he

loved. His children and grandchildren adored him, and his example of faithfulness,

integrity, and unconditional love will continue to guide them for generations to come.

His was truly a life well lived. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply, the

friendships he nurtured, and the faith that sustained him throughout his life.

While he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he has been

welcomed home by the Lord he faithfully served.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Masses be offered for the repose of

Raymond's soul or that memorial donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society

at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waxahachie, Texas. Faith, family, and service to others

were the cornerstones of his life, and these acts of prayer and charity would be a fitting

tribute to his memory.
