IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard Thomas
Belleau
December 10, 1940 – April 12, 2021
Richard Thomas Belleau, 80, of Waxahachie, Texas passed away peacefully at Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Monday, April 12, 2021.
He was born December 10, 1940 to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred William Belleau in Salem, Massachusetts. He grew up in Massachusetts, but as a young adult moved to Galveston,Texas and called that home until 2019, when he relocated to Waxahachie to be close to his daughter and her family.
Richard enlisted and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1965, during which time he was stationed in Germany. While enlisted, he served as an artillery specialist, also known as a "gunner."
After retirement from the plastics industry, working as an extrusion operator, he took a part time job working at the 61st Fishing Pier in Galveston, Texas. That job was more fun than work to him because one of his favorite pastimes was fishing! Along with fishing, Richard also loved to bowl.
He is preceded in death by his father; Alfred William Belleau, his mother; Rita Lorraine Lapointe, brother; Raymond Belleau, sister; Barbara Belleau Bertone, and nephew; Raymond Belleau, Jr.
He is survived by his wife; Sylvia A. Belleau and one daughter; Renae Rodden and her husband; Keith Rodden of Waxahachie, Texas, nieces; Debbie A. Gagnon of Hudson, Florida, Donna M. Pingree of Decatur, Texas, Diane L. Gibbs of Hudson, Florida, and former sister-in-law; Sandra Duncan-Cron of Hudson, Florida, and many other nieces and nephews.
He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Service arrangements are pending at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
