Richard Kenneth Thorpe, 70, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on July 19, 2026. He was born on December 6, 1955, to Virgil Lee Thorpe and Erna Dietz Thorpe in Germany.

Richard was an United Stated Army Veteran and retired after 20 years of service. He was a member of the BONE ministry. He loved photography, doing yard work, his dogs and spending time with his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Erna Thopre.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Leigh Thorpe, his children, Jonathan and wife Krystal, Shannon and husband Brian, Melissa and husband Mike, Lanis and husband Shane, Stefanie and husband Michael, Josh and life partner John, his grandchildren, Braden, Jonathan, Richard, Sarah, Heather, Kyle, Denise, Alyssa, & Skylynn, seven great-grandchildren and his brother Virgil L. Thorpe.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Waxahachie Funeral Home on August the 8th at 10am.
