Robert Hopkins, 77, passed away February 2, 2022,  surrounded by his family.  He was born October 30, 1944 in Corsicana, Texas to James, Sr. and Thelma Louise Hopkins.

Robert attended Waxahachie High School and went on to work in construction for many years.  He had a generous heart and love for Christ. He drove the church bus to pick up kids for Sunday School. He worked nights and weekends to remodel Friendship Baptist Church in Lancaster, Texas, where he was a member.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on and racing cars, and he couldn't pass up a good flea market or watching the Dallas Cowboys. But, most of all he loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: James Hopkins, Jr. and Freddy Hopkins, sisters: Marion Adams and Barbara Young, brothers-in-law: Kenneth Young, Mack Lucas, and Hoyt Helton, a sister-in-law Linda Hopkins, two nieces and one nephew.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Sharla Mullins Hopkins of Waxahachie; daughter Amy Kennedy and husband Tim of Waxahachie; son Robert Hopkins, Jr. and wife Rayna' of Red Oak; daughter Melissa Worley and husband Chris of Waxahachie; granddaughters: Makayla Worley of Waxahachie, & Kaili Kennedy & boyfriend Ryan Roberts of Waco;  grandsons: James Worley II and wife Kaeli of Midlothian; Jacob Worley & girlfriend Valeria Ortega of Waxahachie; Coleman Hopkins of Red Oak; great-granddaughters: Kinlee Worley & Emma Worley; and sisters: Verna Helton of Red Oak and Lee Lucas of Bryan, and many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday February 8, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home, 1201 West HWY 287 By-Pass. Funeral Service will be held  Wednesday February 9,  at 1:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Forreston Cemetery.
