Obituary

Roberto Esquivel, age 60, of Dallas, Texas was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday, February 8, 2021. Roberto was born to Francisco, Sr. and Manuela Carreno Esquivel on December 21, 1960 in Corpus Christi, TX.

Robert met the love of his life, Virginia Garza in 1994 and they were married on September 18, 2004. He was a loving, dedicated, supporting and caring husband to his wife and ministry partner for 16 years. Robert loved and cherished his two children; Stephanie Esquivel Williams and Robert Esquivel, Jr., who together blessed him with six grandchildren.

He was a man of many talents and interests. In high school, he was a great football player. He later became very good at golf. These interests brought him to his passion of the outdoors, specifically cycling, hunting, camping, rock climbing and traveling. And the love for the outdoors, brought Robert to want to study and become knowledgeable in horticulture.

Robert had an infectious smile that brought him both respect and countless friends in his lifetime. His love for his wife, family, friends and people in general, combined with his passion for the outdoors, brought Robert to share that passion with every group and church he was connected with. A love that was with him until the Lord called him home.

Most importantly, Robert loved the Lord with his whole heart. Throughout his life, he held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those around him. He loved serving the Lord, and he served his God in various ministry capacities throughout his life. Robert and Virginia became members of New Beginnings Church in Bedford, Texas, where they faithfully served as deacons and leaders till this present time. In 2009 Robert and Virginia began feeding the homeless which birthed "God's Hands" Homeless Ministry."  Robert also taught a class called: "Outdoor Survival Skills." Together they led a bilingual Shabbat Life Group, and Bilingual Church Service at their church.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Manuela Esquivel. He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Garza Esquivel; his children: daughter, Stephanie M. Esquivel and husband Roderick Williams and son, Robert Esquivel, Jr. and wife Ana (Rodriguez), Grandchildren: Nykia, Kyi and Magnus Williams; Robert (Trey)III, Timothy and Isabella; siblings: sisters, Teresa Aguilar, Yolanda and husband Bart Musquiz, Edel and husband Alfonso Alvarado and brother, Francisco and wife Molly Esquivel; and numerous nephews and nieces.
