Salvador
Alfaro
Feb 9, 1931 — Jul 13, 2026
Salvador B. Alfaro peacefully went to be with the Lord in his sleep on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the blessed age of 95.
He was born on February 9, 1931, to Manuel Alfaro and Soledad Chavez in Villanueva, Zacatecas, Mexico. From an early age, Salvador developed a deep love for horses—a passion instilled in him by his family that remained with him throughout his life. As a young man, he became a member of La Asociación de Charros "La Costeña" in Matamoros, Mexico, where he competed in rodeos across the country and embraced the rich traditions of the charro way of life. Salvador also had a remarkable gift for gardening. Blessed with a "green thumb," he lovingly tended his gardens throughout the years, and they consistently produced abundant harvests.
During the last decade of his life, Salvador and his beloved wife, Maria Angelica, were blessed to cross paths with Iglesia Vaquera Waxahachie. There, they both came to know Jesus Christ as their Savior, beginning a chapter of faith that brought great joy and purpose to their lives. The friendships they formed within their church family became a cherished blessing, and Salvador was grateful for the opportunity to continue using his God-given gift of working with horses until he was no longer physically able.
Salvador will be remembered for his quiet strength, his hardworking spirit, his enduring love of horses, and his gifted hands as a gardener.
He is lovingly survived by his beloved wife, Maria Angelica Diaz Alfaro; his brother, José Manuel Barrios Alfaro; his children, Cesar Alfaro, Ismael Alfaro, Anna Alvarado, and Sylvia Alfaro; and eleven cherished grandchildren.
Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort and peace in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, whom he faithfully came to know and love.
