Sandi Purdy, born to Jackie Grey Josey and Ben Atwell on September 2, 1943. She passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on October 17, 2013. She is survived by her son Billy Ray Purdy "Poncho", her brothers, Jimmy Foster and Ben Atwell IV, her granddaughter Amber Purdy Wallace two great granddaughters and 15 dogs, many of which she rescued. Sandi devoted her life to rescue work. She spent countless hours at the Ellis County SPCA. She was also heavily involved in the DVG for 40 years, 25 of those years were spent judging and teaching true sportsmanship to many handlers. She will always be remembered for her strong vivacious personality, and her beautiful red nails. Everyone that knew her couldn't help but laugh at her brutal honesty. She will be greatly missed. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
