IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Verna
Dollar
November 26, 1929 – July 1, 2025
Hazel Vernadine Dollar
November 26, 1929 – July 1, 2025
Vernadine Dollar, affectionately known as Verna to her friends, went to her heavenly home July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in DeValls Bluff, Arkansas, one of eleven children to Walter and Ruth Rogers. Verna married the love of her life L.W. Dollar on June 11, 1948. In June of 1954, they moved to Waxahachie, Texas so that L.W. could attend Southwestern Bible Institute. She was a very loving and wise woman of God. She and her husband pastored First Assembly of God in Waxahachie, TX for 18 years. Her passion for faith and community was evident as she taught a women's Sunday School class at University Assembly of God for many years, always encouraging others with her lively spirit and unwavering belief. Together, Verna and L.W. raised seven wonderful children who are all following in their footsteps, serving the Lord and their community. Her home was a hub of activity and joy, especially when filled with her many grandchildren, for whom she always had a special place in her heart.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years L.W. Dollar, and all ten of her siblings: Inez Love, Charles Rogers, Odell Day, Rebecca Patterson, Mildred Vaughn, Doris Kennedy, Elsie Garth, Louise Hambric, Emogene Thomas, and Walter Rogers Jr.
Left to honor her memory are Carol Dollar of Waxahachie, Janet Blount (Ronnie) of Waxahachie, Debbie Miles (Doyce) of Waxahachie, Kenneth Dollar (Leta) of Waxahachie, Roger Dollar (Heidi) of Waxahachie, Gerald Dollar (Jane) of Ukraine, Gary Dollar (Kristi) of Garrison, Tx, 25 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and two more on the way.
Verna's life was a testament to her strength, humor, and deep faith, all qualities that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
