Vincent Paul "Jim" Bruzzese, 95, of Bristol, Texas, passed away at his home, Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

Vincent was the son of Vincent and Isabella (Logosh) Bruzzese. He was born on September 24, 1925, in Newark, New York.

Jim married the love of his life, Barbara Cannefax on November 28, 1950 in Dallas, Texas.

He proudly served his country in the United States Marines as a Corporal. After serving in the Marines for three years he received an honorable discharge but  continued his service in the Marine Reserves.

Jim became a Dallas Fire Fighter in 1950. His dedication and commitment to excellence earned him the title of  "Captain," where he was loved and respected greatly. He retired after nearly thirty years of service.

He enjoyed photography and studying the Bible. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church,  The Knights of Columbus and The American Legion.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Barbara Anne Cannefax Bruzzese, two sons; Paul Michael Bruzzese and Mark Daniel Bruzzese,

He is survived by his daughter; Melissa Knight and her husband; Robert Knight of The Colony, Texas, and one granddaughter; Gwen Jorgensen of The Colony, Texas.

Jim will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held  Thursday evening, February 25, from 6:00 - 8:00, at Waxahachie Funeral Home, 1201 West Highway 287 By-Pass, Waxahachie, Texas 75165.

There will be a graveside service, with honors, on Friday, February 26, 2021, at 10:00 o'clock in the morning at Bristol Cemetery, 400 Union Hill Rd, Bristol, TX  75119.
