Walter Wayne Willert, born January 9, 1950, in Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on March 28, 2026. He was the son of Paul and Norma (Nelson) Willert.

After high school, Walter served as a Private in the United States Army. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved spending time outdoors. He prided himself on being prepared for whatever life brought his way.

He is survived by his siblings: John Willert (Mary), Robert Willert, David Willert, Paulie Willert (Connie), Kathy Carter (Mark), Rebecca Poland, and Esther Schwinn (Doug).

Walter was the beloved father of Paul Willert, Miranda Joy Rogers (Scott), Mareska May Jean Willert, and Meloydee Rose Benavides (Manuel).

He was the grandfather of Kyleigh Wray Willert, Conner Wayne Willert, Cali Joy Rogers, Mandy Benavides, Manuel Jacinto Benavides (Jace), and Macario (Mac) Pablo Benavides.
