Obituary

On Wednesday, May 24, 2023, William Henry Morgan went to be with the Lord at the age of 74. Bill was born on October 27, 1948 in Conway, Arkansas, to William and Evelyn (Lively) Morgan. He graduated from Conway High School, and earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the State College of Arkansas in 1972 and earned his Master of Education from East Texas State University in 1986. On August 16, 1968, Bill married Thelma Young in Conway, Arkansas. She and Bill raised three children, Josh, Jeremy, and Jon in Quitman, Arkansas and Waxahachie, Texas.

Bill loved Jesus and had never walked a season without Him. The love of Bill's life on earth was his wife, Thelma. They were so good together and enjoyed 52 years of marriage. They taught, ministered, and invested in so many lives together over the years. The passion in Bill's ministry was music (sidenote: He played the clarinet in high school). He would sing solos, lead choirs, lead worship, and- one of his favorite traditions- led Christmas Cantatas. Bill was always around the church, leading through music in some form or fashion until God called him to be a Senior Pastor. Bill and Thelma pastored Family Fellowship in Italy, Texas for over ten years and impacted countless lives through their ministry.

Bill loved his family. He loved being a cheerleader for his sons and challenging them to give their best in everything they did. Together, Nana and Papa continued their cheering with their grandchildren. Bill was so proud of all of his family and their pursuits, whether they be in sports, teaching, music, or ministry. If you had a conversation with him in his later years, it would usually revolve around all of the grandkids and what they were up to lately. We are so proud as his family to celebrate his life! Dad, Papa- you have made it HOME! Tell the others we will all see you soon.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Evelyn Morgan, his wife, Thelma, and his son, Jeremy. He is survived by his two sons, Josh and Jon, his daughters-in-law, Heather, Teri, and Christina, his eight grandchildren and their families, and a host of others. The visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at Waxahachie Funeral Home from 6 to 8 o'clock p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at First Assembly of God in Waxahachie at 10 o'clock a.m. In lieu of flowers, the Morgan family would like to request that memorial donations be made to the Jeremy Morgan Scholarship Fund at Connect4LIFEChurch.com.
