Obituary

Willie "Faye" Moore Phillips, 94, of Waxahachie, was blessed to be called to her heavenly home on Monday, March 4, 2024.

Faye was born in Lamar County, on January 14, 1930, the daughter of Tony and Jimmie Gladys Moore. She married James Phillips on June 9, 1954. Faye was the proud mother of James Richard Phillips Jr., Ken Phillips (Linda Phillips), Keith Phillips (Donna), and Tim Phillips (Morris). She was the best Mammaw to Emily, Jennifer, Heath, Caitlyn, Dustin and Jennifer Scribner. Later to be covered in Mammaw's love, she would welcome Tayden, Abby, Tinsleigh and Jameson to share in her desire for all things sweet.

Faye's Early beginnings brought her from Lamar County to Alexandria, Virgina after marriage. She would later move back to Paris, Texas then on to Palmer, Ennis, Waxahachie, and finally Allen until her passing. She was one of the best trophy builders at Tropar Trophy in Ennis and the best cook and cashier to the students at Waxahachie High School. She loved outings with her family: getting her nails and hair done, ice cream and visits to the Allen Café were treasures of her day.

Faye was the oldest living sibling to Tony Moore and wife, Pat of Chicota, Texas, Gene Moore and Wife Jan of Ruston, Louisiana, Deborah Huggins and Husband Denny of Roxton, Texas, and Virgina Lenor of Belk, Texas, and numerous special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Sr., Son, Dickie, two brothers and three sisters.

We would like to thank the staff of Victoria Gardens of Allen and a very special thank you to Leann Martin who made the facility feel like a warm and welcoming home; the doctors, nurses and staff of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Allen who showed us compassionate care and finally Dignity Hospice, who stayed and comforted us during the imminent passing of Faye.

A visitation will be held at the Waxahachie Funeral home on Thursday the 7th, from 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday the 8th at 2pm, at the Waxahachie Funeral Home.
